Day 0: Briefing – Preparation for the Adventure

We will meet one day before the departure for an informative talk privately with your guide. We will resolve doubts, we will tune the details of your computer, and you will prepare mind and body for the challenge that will change your life. The expedition starts with your pick up early in Cusco. After a breakfast under the towering mountains Humantay and Salkantay trek, we will begin the hike to Lake Humantay, a mirror turquoise embraced by glaciers. Then, we will continue to Ichupata, crossing the Cordillera Vilcabamba and walking among snow-capped peaks that caress the sky. This first night we will camp under a blanket full of stars, surrounded by the pure energy of the mountains.

Today, conquer the highest point of the expedition: the Step Inkachiriasca (5,100 m), the true roof of the challenge. From the top, admirarás the magnitude of the Salkantay and, if the weather allows, the impressive Ausangate far away. Then, you will begin a descent transformer to Sisaypampa, feeling how the landscape and your spirit merge into each step.

After a comforting breakfast, you will begin the descent down the old channel inca Pampacahuana, a marvel of engineering ancestral still alive. You will reach the archaeological complex of Paucarcancha, surrounded by green mountains, where you will feel the heritage inca latent in every stone. After lunch, we brings the famous Inca Trail, despidiéndote of the muleteers to walk to Wayllabamba and finally reach the camp of Ayapata, where you will rest under a sky full of stars.

Today will face the physical challenge, the largest of the route: the ascent to the Pass of the Dead Woman (dead woman’s pass, 4,215 m) and then the step of Runkurakay (4,000 m). Each step in this journey mountain will be a reminder of your inner strength. From the heights, you will see the valleys are covered in mist and feel the majesty of the Andes abrazándote. After visiting archaeological sites such as Sayacmarca, acamparás in Chaquicocha, enjoying a sunset that stains the fire mountains and peace.

Today you will walk for one of the most beautiful stretches of the Trail, surrounded by cloud forests, wild orchids and ways ancestral to open up between the jungle. A visit to Phuyupatamarca (“the city above the clouds”) and see epic vistas of mountains and deep valleys. Then you will descend to Intipata and Wiñaywayna, one of the archaeological more impressive, where you will rest to the gates of Machu Picchu.

The big day has arrived. Before sunrise, walk to Intipunku, the Sun Gate, to see how the first rays illuminate Machu Picchu in a scene magical and unforgettable.
