Day 0: Briefing

Day 1: Cusco – Ankasmarka – Lares hot Springs – Wakawasi
Meeting with the essentials: culture alive and healing nature
of Your journey begins at 6:00 am with pick up from your hotel in Cusco by private transport. The journey towards Lares offers postcards of the stunning Sacred Valley. On the way, make a stop special in Ankasmarka, a former storage facility inca, where you will explore your constructions and you will feel how the story starts to talk to you.
Then you will continue on to the hot springs of Lares, where you can relax together in the natural pools surrounded by mountains. Here you will also learn about the muleteers local, and their flames, who accompany you in this journey.
Take a peaceful stroll, passing through communities that preserve their identity alive, visiting homes of family and sharing stories along with weavers and farmers of the andes.

Day 2: Wakawasi – Step Ipsaycocha – Patakancha
Shared challenge and magic of heights
After a hearty breakfast prepared by your host family, be prepared for the climb at the Open Ipsay (4,420 m), the highest point of this section.
Along the way, will be surrounded by alpacas, lagoons height and the sacred silence of the mountains. Each pause is an opportunity to embrace, to contemplate together the landscape and celebrate the shared effort.
During the descent towards the community of Patakancha, you will feel how the environment changes, and with it you too. Arrive at the village in the afternoon, where another local family waiting for you to share your dinner, rest, and a new experience in the heart of the Andes.

After breakfast, say goodbye to your host family and begin a new stage: the encounter with the legendary Inca Trail. A private transfer will take you to Ollantaytambo, where you will board the train to Km 104, start of the trail.
From here, walk embraced by the high jungle, crossing rivers and trails of stone until the first archaeological site: Chachabamba, a jewel hidden among lush vegetation. Then they will ascend into the mystic Wiñay Wayna, a place that evokes the passage of time and the eternity of love. There will share a lunch surrounded by history and nature.

We visited the village, stayed with one of the team, and had direct interaction with the culture through food, digging potatoes and daily ceremonies. We also got to know our chefs and porters. Jose was very knowledgeable and diligent in imparting that knowledge on the Inca, Quecha culture and modern Peru. I overhead some other groups and got the impression we were getting much more detail.
