Itinerary

This itinerary has been designed for travellers who wish to go beyond conventional tourism. It combines the best of the Andes with the depth of the Amazon, creating an intimate experience, diverse, life-changing, step-by-step.

Day 1: Arrival to Peru

You will be welcomed at the international airport of Lima by our team, and transferred to your hotel. This day is designed for you to rest and begin to acclimate to calm the country, enjoying the first impression of Peru: warm hospitality and impeccable organization.

After the flight to Cusco, we will welcome you with a coca tea to relieve altitude sickness. After a brief rest, we will start the city tour, visiting the temples and archaeological sites such as the Cathedral, Qoricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Q’enqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. History, spirituality, and architecture ancestral woven together in a fascinating day.

  • Cathedral of Cusco: a jewel of colonial art.
  • Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun): perfect fusion between stone inca and european architecture.
  • Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay: imposing archaeological sites, surrounded by magical scenery.

You’ll end the day with a new perspective of the city and the energy of the Andes beating under your feet.

We started the day heading to the Sacred Valley, surrounded by mountains, cultures and communities of the andes. Visit Pisac and its craft market, we continue to Urubamba to get to Ollantaytambo, a town alive inca. On the way back, we went through Chinchero, the cradle of textile and living heritage. A day of scenic beauty, culture and connection to the earth.

You will live a single day by sharing with our porters in their andean community. Know their stories, you will participate in daily activities and enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars. This immersive experience social will prepare you emotionally for what is to come: the sacred route of the Incas.

From Km 82 we started the walk by a path that joins nature and archaeology. We explore Llactapata and we continue to Wayllabamba, where we will camp in the middle of a landscape of the high forest. The first day allows you to adapt to the rhythm, to the environment and to the spirit of the Way.

Today we face the physical challenge, the highest in the tour: the step of Warmiwañuska (4215 m), “the Dead Woman”. The ascent is demanding, but the reward is a stunning landscape and a sense of conquest interior. After crossing it, we descend to Pacaymayo to relax under the starry sky of the andean community.

The longest day, but also the most revealing. We visited Runkurakay, Sayacmarca, Conchamarca and the mystical Phuyupatamarca, the “town above the clouds”, we get into the magic of their andean forests appreciating hundreds of orchids, hummingbirds floors and ecological change. We then descend by ancient steps incas until you get to Wiñaywayna, where we will camp for the last time before reaching Machu Picchu.

We got up early to get to Intipunku (Sun Gate) and have the first magical view of Machu Picchu. Then, we entered the citadel for a guided visit of 2 hours. After exploring freely, we go down to Aguas Calientes, we had lunch and took the train back to Cusco.

Free day for you: you can have a rest, visit museums, try the local cuisine or simply let the city surprise you at your own pace. A space that is required to integrate what lived in the earlier days.

We flew to Puerto Maldonado and we cruise down the Madre de Dios river to the lodge in the middle of the jungle. We explore the Lake Cayman and at dusk, we saw caimans and other nocturnal animals. A radical change of scenery, but equally as powerful.

We walked through jungle trails to the lake Apu Victor, the home of birds, monkeys, turtles and, maybe, the elusive wolf river. From the lookout we will have spectacular panoramic views. In the afternoon, we explore the Island of the Monkeys and we live with different species in their natural habitat

We said goodbye to the jungle with a breakfast at the lodge. We sail back to Puerto Maldonado to take the flight to Lima and connect with your return to home. You will take away not only photos, but a profound inner transformation.
